Two female pedestrians were struck by a train early Monday morning at about 4:15 A.M. while attempting to cross the single track main line of the Norfolk Southern Railway. The rails pass through the unincorporated community of McDonald, TN and the pedestrians were crossing them at the South McDonald Road crossing with NS rails just north of B Avenue.

Two 16-year-old boys, one from Eudora, KS and the other from Lawrence, KS, received serious injuries about 3:30 P.M.,CDT Saturday afternoon when an eastbound BNSF freight train surprised them as they were “hanging out” on a railroad bridge over a creek on city property near the Eudora water treatment plant close to the Wakarusa River.

A local man in his forties and his two young relatives, walking or sitting near Canadian National Railroad tracks, were hit by a CN freight train near Frost Street in Hazlehurst, MS Friday evening at about 6:15 P.M., CDT, killing the man and one boy, and sending the other boy to a the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS with non-life threatening injuries.
