(Logan, North Dakota – February 3, 2012)
A 17-year-old high school student, walking home and attempting to cross Canadian Pacific railroad tracks near her home, was struck and killed by an eastbound CPR freight train about 3:20 P.M. Friday afternoon in Logan, ND, southeast of Minot, ND.
Little information on the tragedy that took the life of Elizabeth Dehnke of Logan was available from officers of the Ward County Sheriff’s Office or the North Dakota Highway Patrol, as both agencies were involved in the investigation of the accident which occurred near the County Road 16 crossing of CP tracks.
The victim’s body was transported to the Thomas Funeral Home in Minot, ND, where visitation will be held Wednesday evening, followed by funeral services at the Minot Presbyterian Church Thursday afternoon.
