Union Pacific Installs Protective Fence

(San Luis Obispo, California – November 10, 2011)

Well over a year following the death of a 17-year-old boy who was struck by a freight train as he attempted to cross Union Pacific Railroad tracks, UPRR is, at its own expense, installing preventative/protective fencing as a barrier against public use of a short-cut to Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Oscar Gonzales died in July of 2010 when he was hit by a UP train as he walked a well-used path leading from Murray Street to California Blvd
