(Brookland, Arkansas – November 10, 2011)
The driver of an 18-wheeler hauling rice seed from Alvin, TX to the Anheiser-Busch plant facility near Brookland, AR in Craighead County was killed Thursday morning about 8:30 A.M. when he stopped at the plant’s private crossing, only and was struck by a Union Pacific freight train.
The truck stopped on the tracks before lights, bells and gates signaled the train’s approach, was dragged about a half mile beyond the crossing after impact, and caught fire. The victim’s body was found still in the cab of the truck after the train stopped.
