A 28-year-old operating department manager suffered the loss of both legs and one arm about 9:00 P.M. Monday night when he dismounted a train he had been aboard and was subsequently run over by the same train.
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Switch Foreman Paul Young, who is married and the father of two young children, was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX.
BNSF spokesman Joe Faust, gave the broad, typical, and ambiguous statement: “We’re gathering information on who was there with him and what exactly he was working on.” The accident occurred near the railroad crossing at the 5300 block of Blue Mound Road.
