(Gold Bar, Washington – October 5, 2011)
The body of a man, obviously hit by a train whose crew never reported the incident, was found on Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks by the crew of another BNSF train about 5:30 P.M. late Wednesday afternoon near the 38300 block of Highway 2 near Gold Bar, WA.
According to Federal Railroad Administration figures, the stretch of track the victim was killed on accommodates 22 trains daily, including both BNSF freights and Amtrak passenger trains, and how a train crew could hit a pedestrian in broad daylight and claim to not have seen the tragedy had officials from both the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office baffled.
