Norfolk Southern Train Destroys Truckload Of Military Family’s Belongings
(Valdosta, Georgia – August 8, 2011)
A moving truck carrying the household goods of a military family being stationed at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA was completely demolished about 8:00 A.M. Monday morning by a Norfolk Southern freight train at the crossing of South Oak Street and NS tracks in Valdosta, GA.
No one was injured, but the trailer and its contents were total losses as the train split the trailer in half. The crossing has lights and gates, but no report of their proper function was received.
