(Mcintyre, Georgia – December 4, 2011)
An unidentified motorist was killed Sunday evening about 7:13 P.M. when he attempted to cross Norfolk Southern railroad tracks at the Main Street crossing in Mcintyre, GA and was hit by a NS freight train.
Few details, including the driver’s name, age, gender or ethnicity, were available as the Georgia State Patrol investigated the accident.
The Main Street crossing is equipped with lights, bells and gates, but no report on their having functioned properly was offered.
