Man Dies When Hit By New Jersey Transit Train

(Bloomfield, New Jersey – June 22, 2011)

An unidentified male pedestrian died shortly before 4:00 P.M. Wednesday when he was struck by a New Jersey Transit commuter passenger train at the Bloomfield, NJ Watsessing Avenue station.

Train #1003, with 60 passengers on board, was travelling on track 1 and was not scheduled to stop at the station when it hit and killed the victim. Speculation of possible suicide was immediately entered into news reports by officials.
