Man Crossing CSX Tracks on His Way to Work Killed by Freight Train
(Delaware, Ohio – April 8, 2013)
A 34-year-old Delaware, OH resident was killed instantly by a CSX freight train as he crossed the CSX railroad tracks to report for his second shift job Monday afternoon at about 3:18 P.M. in Delaware, OH.
Rubin Miranda was pronounced dead at the scene by Delaware County Coroner Mark Hickman, who said the death was accidental.
The location of the tragedy was near London Road and Liberty Road, just southwest of downtown Delaware. According to the Federal Railroad Administration, an average of 15 CSX trains travel through the Delaware corridor on a daily basis at a maximum allowable speed of 50 mph.
