Idaho Pedestrian Dies When Hit By Union Pacific Freight Train
(Bancroft, Idaho – July 22, 2011)
Idaho State Police and Caribou County Sheriff’s officers are investigating a train/pedestrian fatality which happened Friday afternoon at the intersection of UPRR rails and Ivins Road, near Old Highway 30 just outside of Bancroft, ID.
Matthew Gaither, 51, of Soda Springs, ID was struck and killed when he stepped in front of a Union Pacific freight train at the grade crossing. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Caribou County Coroner
