Female Motorist Injured In Car/Train Crash at Non-Gated CSX Crossing

(Banner, Kentucky – November 23, 2011)

A female driver, Mary Boyd of Dana, KY, was injured when her 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier was struck by an eastbound CSX freight train at the non-gated crossing of Kentucky Highway 1426 in Banner, KY Wednesday.

The crossing is equipped with flashing lights, but even though this was the fifth accident at the crossing, no gates to protect the driving public from trains.

The victim was rushed to Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY for treatment of injuries of undisclosed nature.
