Elderly Motorist Injured At Historically Dangerous Ungated Connecticut Crossing
(Stamford, Connecticut – September 27, 2011)
The ungated Metro-North (Metropolitan Transit Authority) railroad crossing of Riverbend Drive South in Stamford, CT, which did not even have lights until after 7 accidents had occurred there, was the site of another serious injury collision Tuesday afternoon about 12:05 P.M. when a northbound commuter train with 16 passengers on board struck a 1991 Cadillac DeVille driven by an elderly woman.
The victim was still conscious when emergency crews arrived, and was quickly transported to Stamford Hospital where she was admitted in critical condition.
