Driver Injured When Car Shoved Onto Tracks Hit By Commuter Train
(Lewisville, Texas – October 14, 2011)
A 47-year-old female motorist was struck by a DCTA “A” Train commute passenger train after another vehicle rear-ended her and pushed her car into the train’s path in Lewisville, TX Friday afternoon. The accident occurred as she was stopped at the Texas Highway 121 crossing with Denton County Transit Authority railroad tracks while the lights and gates activated.
The unidentified woman’s Chevrolet Cavalier was struck in the rear by a driver in a Mercury Cougar, then hit on her car’s passenger side and heavily damaged. The victim was transported to Plano Medical Center in unknown condition, while Lewisville Police were considering charges against the driver of the Cougar.
