(Kansas City, Kansas – August 15, 2011)
An operating employee of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway died about 1:30 P.M. Monday afternoon when he was found dead from an accident at BNSF’s Argentine Yard facility in Kansas City, KS. The victim, a white male in his 40’s, was entrapped between the couplers of two railroad cars. Further information was withheld prior to notification of next-of-kin.
This tragedy represented the fourth fatal accident suffered by employees of the Warren Buffet syndicate-owned railroad this year. Two of the tragedies were multiple fatality situations, one in Washington, the other in Iowa. Another employee was killed at a BNSF yard near Tulsa, OK last month.
