An as-yet unidentified man was killed on CSX Railroad tracks just off Owen Drive and near the Cumberland Road grade crossing in Fayetteville, NC by a New York-bound Amtrak passenger train about 1:20 P.M. Thursday afternoon.

Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham said the train originated in Savannah, GA, and did not disclose the train’s speed or passenger count, but made sure the victim was labeled a “trespasser”. Fayetteville Police are investigating the tragic death.
