An as-yet unidentified 25-year-old man died Sunday afternoon about 12:30 P.M. when he and two companions tried to cross Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks near Fort Madison, IA’s Riverview Park, near 10th Street.
The victim tripped and fell in front of a Chicago-bound Amtrak train loaded with 250 passengers, was struck, and dragged for some distance before the train could come to a stop.
