(Indianapolis, Indiana – April 26, 2025)
An Indiana motorist was killed last Saturday afternoon when their 2019 Jeep Cherokee SUV was struck by a CSX freight train. The collision occurred around 2:30 pm near the railroad crossing intersection of North Sherman Drive.
According to first responders, one man was found inside the Cherokee and was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital on Monday, April 28. There has yet to be confirmation on whether the light and gate signal system was working properly at the time of the collision. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will identify the deceased and make the final decision in his manner and cause of death.
