Eight Injured After Metrolink Train Collision In Los Angeles Union Station

(Los Angeles, California – October 8, 2025)

Eight people were left injured on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at around 7:30 a.m. following a collision between two Metrolink trains. The crash occurred near the entrance of Union Station in downtown Los Angeles, CA.

The crash occurred as a Ventura County Line train carrying 85 passengers entered the station and collided with an already stationary, empty Metrolink train. As a result, one person was hospitalized, and six other passengers and the train’s conductor were left with minor injuries. The involved trains were intended for later use in the San Bernardino Line; consequently, their respective services were cancelled.

The collision comes less than two months after another Metrolink train was involved in an accident in late June, this time involving a tractor-trailer in Moorpark, CA. The semi-truck driver was ejected from the vehicle and subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

Metrolink’s safety, security, and compliance department is continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
