An unidentified male pedestrian, walking along CSX railroad tracks near Edgewood Avenue South and Plymouth Street, was struck and killed by an Amtrak passenger train about 6:45 P.M. Sunday evening in Jacksonville, FL.
The Duval County Sheriff’s Office, Jacksonville PD and Amtrak authorities were all investigating the tragedy. Police Spokesperson Melissa Bujeda said that, even though the Sheriff’s homicide team was involved in the investigation, “at this time, we’re looking at it as accidental.”
