A Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway locomotive engineer and a train conductor were both hospitalized in Havre, MT Sunday afternoon after three locomotives and 23 cars of the 93-car BNSF freight train they were operating derailed in Havre, MT. while enroute from Spokane, WA to Minneapolis, MN.

At least 1,500 gallons of diesel fuel spilled from the derailed locomotives, and loads of lumber and soybeans were scattered along the path of the accident, the cause of which remains under investigation.
