County Employee Seriously Injured by CSX Train at Ohio Crossing

A Darke County employee was injured and airlifted to a Dayton, OH hospital after her 1996 Buick Park Avenue was totaled by a westbound CSX freight train hauling six covered hopper cars loaded with grain at 50 mph as several CSX workers busy installing the support system for a new flashing lights/bells/crossing gates protective system at Younker Road looked on about 11:00 A.M. County Dump Truck Driver Dies in Heavy Fog Train Accident/Derailment at Non-Gated Crossing

(Dayton, Idaho – January 9, 2013)

The driver of a Franklin County, ID dump truck was killed instantly Wednesday morning at about 10:08 A.M. when he drove his vehicle into the side of a moving Union Pacific freight train, derailing approximately 15 rail cars, at the non-gated crossing of Idaho State Highway 36 and UPRR tracks just outside of Dayton, ID.
