The third member of a trio of girls who were hit by two trains near the Covered Bridge community of Spanish Fork, UT this past Saturday has succumbed to her injuries.
The other two girls died instantly when they were waving to the crew of a Utah Railway train, only to be hit by a Union Pacific train from the opposite direction. Authorities feel the victims may have been thrown against the Utah Ry. train by the UPRR freight.
“Even though the doctors have done everything possible, Savannah will not be able to recover,” said her mother, Jayna Webster. Classmates of the three girls at Diamond Fork Junior High School and Maple Mountain High School wore dress clothes to school Monday to honor their friends’ memories.
