Teenage Girl Killed By Amtrak Train on New Jersey Transit Rails
(Woodbridge, New Jersey – July 8, 2011)
A young girl, said to be in her early teens, was struck and killed Friday afternoon about 3:45 P.M. by an Amtrak passenger train three miles south of the Metropark station in Woodbridge, NJ, as she was either walking along or playing on New Jersey Transit railroad tracks.
The train was travelling from Boston, MA to Washington, DC, and was carrying 229 passengers. Identity of the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
