Los Angeles Blue Line Light Rail Train Suffers Another Crash–Four Passengers Hurt
(Los Angeles, California – September 14, 2012)
Continuing to prove its title as the ‘deadliest and most accident-prone rail line in the country,” according to Wikipedia, Los Angeles Metro’s light rail Blue Line suffered another accident as a train operating on city street-shared trackage collided with a mid-size SUV near the intersection of Broadway and Washington Boulevard, near downtown Los Angeles, CA, early Friday afternoon, resulting in injury to four passengers aboard the train.
Los Angeles Fire Dept. Spokesman Cecil Manresa said all four victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment of what was believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The second Blue Line train accident in less than a month, Friday’s accident was preceded August 27 by a collision between a Blue Line train and a Metro bus near Washington Boulevard and San Pedro Streets, sending between two and three dozen bus and train passengers to numerous hospitals.
