(Noel, Missouri – May2, 2011)
The body of Jeremy James Wilson, a 33-year-old white male resident of Noel, Missouri was discovered near Kansas City Southern Railroad track. The local resident found the man’s body Monday morning between 7:30 and 8:00 A.M. Investigative personnel from the McDonald County Sheriff’s Office said “It appears that the subject had been struck by a southbound train.” The Sheriff’s Office statement also said that “The incident was not noticed by or reported by personnel on the train.
Recorders on the train are being reviewed to determine exactly how the incident happened.” McDonald County Sheriff Robert Evenson would not speculate on whether the death was a suicide or accidental. “There really isn’t any way to tell,” said Evenson. “I’m not so inclined (toward suicide) but if I was, I don’t think I would do it that way. But who knows?”
Evenson added that the victim appeared on a video from an earlier train. “You could see Mr. Wilson a little bit up the tracks in a field by himself, alive and well.” The investigation into the accident is also being conducted by Kansas City Southern officials and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers.
