Iowa Man Hit, Killed by Railroad Maintenance Equipment

(Princeton, Iowa – May 19, 2011)

An elderly, as yet unidentified Princeton, Iowa man was struck and killed by a rail-mounted Canadian Pacific Railroad equipment as he walked across CPR tracks in downtown Princeton Thursday.

Strangely, authorities first thought the man might have been hit by a train before it was discovered that the equipment had hit and killed him. How the operator of the rail equipment did not see the victim is still under investigation.
