Florida Man Dies on CSX Railroad Tracks
(Seffner, Florida – June 30, 2011)
A 61-year-old Seffner man fell while crossing CSX Railroad tracks near a grade crossing and was hit and run over by a westbound CSX freight train late Wednesday. Edward Herring was found beneath the stopped train, dead at the scene.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department Detective Larry McKinnon speculated that the victim may have had a medical condition and collapsed on the tracks, but said an autopsy would have to determine the actual cause of death.
