Female Motorist Injured At Dangerous, Unguarded Tulsa Crossing
(Tulsa, Oklahoma – November 29, 2011)
A 59-year-old female motorist was injured early Tuesday morning about 7:00 A.M. when her minivan was hit by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train at the dangerous, unguarded crossing of BNSF tracks and Southwestern Boulevard in Tulsa, OK.
Witnesses said the slow-moving train was difficult to see in the early morning darkness, and the victim said she neither saw nor heard the train approaching the crossing, which has only standard railroad crossbuck signs and lacks any form of electronic protective devices such as lights, bells or gates.
The victim was taken to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.
