Conrail Hi-Rail Vehicle Fails To Activate Crossing Signals Seriously Injures Auto Occupant
(South Plainfield, New Jersey — February 16, 2012)
A 70-year-old woman who was a passenger in her daughter’s 2007 Cadillac was seriously injured about 12:10 P.M. Thursday afternoon when it was struck by a rail-mounted Conrail pickup truck at the crossing of Clinton Avenue Extension (County Road 605).
The 2006 Ford 350 was mounted with railroad wheels and traveling on Conrail railroad tracks, and being driven by Conrail employee Jeffrey A. Campbell, 59, of New Kensington, PA
