California Construction Worker Trapped on Crossing, Killed by High-Speed ACE Train
(Tracy, California – June 9, 2021)
A California street sweeper operator was killed Wednesday morning after his vehicle was struck by a high-speed ACE train. The collision occurred around 7:00 am at the railroad crossing on S. MacArthur Drive.
According to reports, the street sweeper was working near the crossing and became trapped on the crossing between the descended railroad gate arms. The construction worker attempted to get out of the vehicle before the high-speed train arrived, but he did not have enough time.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating this tragedy.
