(Milwaukee, Wisconsin – April 30, 2011)
An 11-year-old boy, who was playing on Canadian Pacific Railroad tracks along with a 10-year-old girl around the 2500 block of Greeley Street, near Lincoln Avenue, in the Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee, lost a portion of his right leg and foot Saturday afternoon about 2:15 P.M. Saturday when he tried to mount a slow moving CPR train. The boy jumped up on a boxcar, but lost his balance when he tried to dismount from the still moving train, and his lower right leg was run over. With the crew unaware of the occurrence of the accident, the train continued without stopping as the boy’s companion ran to some houses close to the tracks for help. Milwaukee Police and Canadian Pacific officials are still investigating the tragedy.
