BNSF Freight Train Kills Minnesota Man at Rural Grade Crossing

(Audubon, Minnesota – October 2, 2011)

A 44-year-old Minnesota motorist died early Sunday morning about 12:15 A.M. when he was struck by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train at the rural Becker County, MN crossing of 180th Avenue west of Audubon, MN.

Eric Dean Grina was driving his Jaguar 4-door sedan and allegedly drove around lowered crossing gates and was knocked by the train into a ditch between Highway 10 and the BNSF Railroad tracks. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
