Two Hurt as Car Drives Into Side of CSX Train

(Howell, Michigan – July 12, 2011)

A 17-year-old driver and his 22-year-old passenger were both injured about 6:00 P.M. Tuesday evening when the motorist drove into the side of a CSX freight train hauling 134 cars at the Packard Drive crossing of CSX Railroad tracks in Howell, MI. 

The crossing is equipped with both lights and gates, but their operational status was not mentioned by any news media.  Both victims were transported to Sparrow Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
