CSX Train Runs Over Pedestrian Near Nashville

(Madison, Tennessee – September 26, 2011)

A yet-to-be-identified white male, thought to be in his 20’s, was hit and run over by a CSX freight train as he walked along CSX Railroad tracks in Madison, TN Monday morning.

The tragedy occurred near North Gallatin Pike and Pierce Road. Nashville Metro Police said the train and the man were going in the same direction, and the victim, who was thought to be wearing headphones, felt the oncoming train’s vibration, turned, but was unable to avoid being struck.
