Two Seriously Injured by Amtrak Train at Unguarded Union Pacific Crossing

Two as-yet unidentified men were being treated in a south St. Louis, MO County hospital Monday after their car was struck and heavily damaged by the St. Louis-bound Amtrak’s “Texas Eagle” early Monday morning at about 6:00 A.M., CST at the dangerous and completely unguarded crossing of Bussen Quarry Road and Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

One Killed and Another Seriously Injured in Louisiana at Dangerous, Unguarded BNSF Crossing

A 69-year-old Iowa, LA woman was killed and her 43-year-old daughter seriously injured Tuesday morning at about 9:12 A.M. when their southbound 2006 Nissan Sentra was struck by a westbound freight train at the dangerous, deadly and unguarded BNSF Railway crossing of Oilfield Road (Louisiana Highway 1151) in Jefferson Davis Parish about 2 1/2 miles west of Welsh, LA.

A 72-year-old Eastman, GA woman, known for her kindness to animals, was killed at about 4:30 P.M. on Monday when the 2013 Nissan Rogue she was driving was struck on the driver’s side by a northbound Norfolk Southern freight train as she made a left turn onto Warehouse Road/Roy Mullins Road.

Hazardous Material Derailment and Fire Force Hundreds of Ohio Residents from Homes

The derailment of eight tank cars and subsequent release of materials described by firefighters as butane and natural gas Monday night about 6:00 PM resulted in the evacuation of at least 500 residents from homes in the general area of the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad’s Brewster, OH rail yard as railroad officials attempted to downplay the situation.

One Killed and One Injured in Virginia at Dangerous, Unguarded Norfolk Southern Crossing

One of two men operating an Appalachian Power flatbed truck was killed and the second was seriously injured after the truck was struck at the dangerous and unguarded crossing of Spring Hollow Access Road in Roanoke County, VA, near Salem, VA. Their truck was struck by a Norfolk Southern freight train consisting of three locomotives and 14 cars late Monday morning about 11:50 A.M., EST.

A mother and her two-year-old son were transported to University Health Services in Shreveport after their car collided with a string of railroad tank cars being backed across the dangerous and unguarded industrial crossing of Union Pacific Railroad tracks and Alto Vista Road in the Hollywood area of Shreveport, LA just before 10 PM, CST Wednesday night.
