Iowa Semi Truck Split in Half at Dangerous, Unguarded Union Pacific Crossing

(Sioux City, Iowa – February 29, 2016)

An unsuspecting and, as yet, unidentified semi-trailer truck driver from Defiance, IA, came within inches of death Monday afternoon at about 4:38 P.M., CST, when his 18-wheeler was struck and cut in half by a Union Pacific freight train at a dangerous, unguarded private railroad crossing near the entrance to Kent Foods just west of Singing Hills Boulevard in Sioux City, IA.

Two Iowans Seriously Injured at Dangerous, Unguarded Canadian National Crossing

A collision between a train of Canadian National Railway subsidiary, Cedar River Railroad, Tuesday morning at the dangerous, unguarded and questionably-listed crossing of CN/CEDR tracks and Woodbridge Avenue in Nashua, IA sent both the truck driver as well as a railroad employee to nearby hospitals at  about 9:30 A.M., CST.

The 55-year-old driver of a 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck was still alive, but critically injured and trapped in the wreckage, after his eastbound vehicle was hit and dragged over a half mile by a northbound Union Pacific train hauling 65 freight cars at the dangerous and unguarded crossing of Grady County Road 1510 (Rockford Road) at about 12:29 P.M., CST last Friday afternoon.

Two as-yet unidentified men were being treated in a south St. Louis, MO County hospital Monday after their car was struck and heavily damaged by the St. Louis-bound Amtrak’s “Texas Eagle” early Monday morning at about 6:00 A.M., CST at the dangerous and completely unguarded crossing of Bussen Quarry Road and Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

A 69-year-old Iowa, LA woman was killed and her 43-year-old daughter seriously injured Tuesday morning at about 9:12 A.M. when their southbound 2006 Nissan Sentra was struck by a westbound freight train at the dangerous, deadly and unguarded BNSF Railway crossing of Oilfield Road (Louisiana Highway 1151) in Jefferson Davis Parish about 2 1/2 miles west of Welsh, LA.
