Nebraska County Worker Seriously Injured at Dangerous, Unguarded BNSF Crossing

 (Gretna, Nebraska – March 30, 2015)

A 14-year veteran county employee was seriously injured when his grader was hit by a BNSF freight train at the dangerous, unguarded BNSF railroad crossing of Capeheart Road near Gretna, NE.  The crossing is also the site of three previous collisions and one injury.  

Los Angeles Metrolink Light Rail Collision with Car Injures 21

(Los Angeles, California – March 28, 2015)

A Los Angeles Metrolink light rail commuter train collided with a silver Hyundai making a left turn into a University of Southern California student parking lot just before 11:00 A.M., PDT, Saturday morning, resulting in injuries for 19 passengers, the train’s engineer and the car’s driver.

Pennsylvania Motorist Seriously Injured at Dangerous, Unguarded Norfolk Southern Crossing

(Bainbridge, Pennsylvania – March 27, 2015)

An 85-year-old Marietta, PA driver, just leaving the Koser Park boat launch in Bainbridge, PA, had to be extricated from his demolished pickup truck after it was struck by a 99-car-long Bakken oil train just before 1:30 P.M., EDT at the dangerous and unguarded crossing of Race Street and Norfolk Southern railroad tracks.

Illinois Teen Crossing Railroad Tracks at Commonly Used Pathway, Killed by Norfolk Southern Train

One of three teenagers, on their way to participate in a pick-up basketball game, was killed Tuesday afternoon between 5:30 and 6:00 P.M., CDT when he attempted to cross Norfolk Southern railroad tracks at a commonly-used pathway, tripped on a rail head, fell, and was hit as he tried to get up.

Ohio Child Killed, Father Seriously Injured at Dangerous, Unguarded CSX Crossing

(Morrow County, Ohio – March 21, 2015)

A 9-year-old boy died and his father was flown to a hospital with serious injuries Saturday morning at about 8:40 A.M., EDT when they attempted to drive their SUV across the dangerous and unguarded intersection of Morrow County Road 32 and CSX railroad tracks two miles north of Iberia, OH and were struck by a westbound CSX freight train.

United Way Executive Director Killed at Dangerous, Unguarded CSX Crossing

(Waverly, Tennessee – March 20, 2015)

A winner of the Mrs. Tennessee Pageant in 1983, and current executive director of the United Way of Humphreys and Benton Counties was killed at about 12:45 P.M. Friday afternoon when the Ford Explorer SUV she was driving was struck and destroyed by a CSX freight train at the dangerous and unguarded private rural railroad crossing of Consoler Road and CSX railroad tracks near Waverly, TN.
