Publications of Interest Battling Federal Question Removal -- Mr. Pottroff wrote this article for the Journal of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (Trial) Winter 2006 publication. Perilous Crossing -- Mr. Pottroff composed this article for the April 2006 edition of Trial. This particular writing sheds light on the fact that dangerous railway crossings kill hundreds of motorists each year, but federal preemption often bars recovery. Due to his vast experience defending motorists injured in railroad crossing accidents across the nation, Robert Pottroff is considered by his peers to be an expert on railroad law. Personal injury attorneys from as far away as California, West Virginia, New Mexico, Arkansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Montana, and Kentucky have consulted him as outside counsel. Railroad Should Trim -- When two fatal train wrecks occur near a rural town within one week of each other, questions arise. In this case, Bob Pottroff was consulted by the media in their quest for answers. Many seem to agree that the railroad is at least partly at fault for failing to trim vegetation around the tracks. For more information on vegetation issues, see "Vegetation Preemption Alert" below. Other Papers and Presentations Below is a series of articles written by Robert Pottroff for the purpose of educating fellow attorneys and the general public on issues of railroad safety and railroad crossing accidents.
